Monarch Butterflies are one of the quintessential butterflies that we see. They migrate through in the fall, heading towards their winter grounds in Mexico. While we do not see the numbers that many other states do, they are still a beautiful animal and our kids get very excited to see them (and any butterfly!). As an aside, we've seen the Monarch movie at Butterfly Wonderland many times and it is a great introduction to them.

Starting on Saturday, September 29th, The Desert Botanical Gardens is bringing back Mighty Monarch and the Plant Protectors. This event is included with your ticket. You'll learn about "the pollinators and predator insects that care for an protect our desert".

While you are there, wander around the gardens and see what wildlife you can find. It's a great way to spend a weekend morning now that it is finally cooling off.
